All inquiries for float training must go through the Lake Country Airways Headquarters in Orillia. Our team in Orillia will help you complete a student profile and refer you to the base that is best suited to you.

The 50 hour Advanced Training course is offered at all of our locations. Offered on a Cessna 172 in Orillia and Ottawa and a Cessna 180 in Parry Sound. Before you register, you must have a float rating and a current medical. If you are travelling from over seas, you will need a Foreign Validation License through Transport Canada.

50 Hour Advanced Training Course

Geared towards pilots entering the industry, or those who want a complete understanding of float flying. 50 hours on floats is average minimum when apply for a float flying career. Graduates leave feeling confident in their newly acquired seaplane skills, but also aware that there is still much to learn, that can only be acquired by personal experience.
