Senior Base Pilot (Orillia)
Our Senior Base Pilots have a passion for safety, flying, leadership and mentoring and will partner with other members of our company to deliver Inspiring Adventures through the Wonders of Flight. In this senior position, you represent the company and liaise with clients, pilots, and other team members to ensure the safe, timely and successful delivery of flights.
Orillia fleet:
Cessna 172 on wheels - Sightseeing
Cessna 172 on floats - Float Instruction and Sightseeing
Cessna 185 Amphib - Sightseeing and Charters
DeHavilland Beaver on floats - Sightseeing, Charters and Servicing Camps.
Our Senior Base Pilots are responsible for the professional standards of the flight crew under their supervision, and in particular:
Co-ordinating with the Chief Pilot and Operations Manager regarding the day-to-day operations
Assigning duties and oversees Flight Operations in general; and supervises the pilots under their supervision to ensure they meet the standards expected of them
Liaising as required with the PRM to co-ordinate maintenance requirements, record keeping, and operational needs
Ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner; and that Technical Dispatch and Flight Following Procedures are followed
Liaising with the Manager of Client services to ensure excellence in customer experience
Performing the flying duties of PIC on operational flights (Scenic Flight, Charters, Camps)
Providing float instruction for float endorsement candidates
Assisting in maintenance of aircraft
Assisting in grooming and cleaning of aircraft
Moving aircraft in and out of water and hangars
Performing other duties as required
The position is primarily located at the Orillia Airport (CJN4, CNV6), however, work will be required at the company’s Outpost Camps and Parry Sound Harbour (CPS1) location as required.
Pilots — Parry Sound and Orillia locations
Our pilots have a passion for safety and flying, and partner with other members of the company to deliver Inspiring Adventures through the Wonders of Flight.. In this position you will represent the company and liaise with clients, pilots and other team members to ensure the safe, timely and successful delivery of flights.
Pilots are assigned to either our Parry Sound or Orillia locations, however, work may occasionally be required at one of our other locations. They report to the Senior Base Pilot, Chief Pilot and to our Flight Operations Manager for the professional standards of the flight crew under his / her supervision. Specifically:
Co-ordinates with the Senior Base Pilot regarding the day-to-day operations
Liaises as required with the Main Base of Operations and PRM, to co-ordinate maintenance requirements, record keeping and any operational needs.
Ensures that all operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner; and that Technical Dispatch and Flight Following Procedures are followed.
Liaises with the Manager of Client services to ensure clients are receiving excellent service
Performs the flying duties of PIC on operational flights (Scenic Flight, Charters)
Checking weather, all applicable NOTAMs where available, determining fuel and oil requirements
Calculating the airplane weight & balance
Completing an airplane pre-flight inspection before each departure
Supervise or carry out the loading and securing of cargo/freight
Briefing passengers
Responsible for Flight Watch
Completing all post flight duties, including notification/confirmation to company of the whereabouts of the airplane when away from base, closing flight plans if required, completing company forms such as the operational flight plan and daily flight sheets, recording flight times and any defects
Provides float instruction for Float Endorsement Candidates
Assists in maintenance of aircraft
Assists in grooming and cleaning of aircraft
Moving aircraft in and out of water and hangars
Other duties as required
Part-time Float Instructor Pilots — Orillia and Constance Lake
Instructors have a passion for safety, flying, leadership and mentoring and will partner with other members of our company to deliver Inspiring Adventures through the Wonders of Flight. They are reponsible to the Senior Base Pilot and Chief Pilot for the professional training standard of students under his / her instruction:
Providing float instruction on Cessna 172’s to float endorsement candidates
Pre and post-flight briefings
Assessing candidate skill level and providing constructive critique
Co-ordinating with the Senior Base Pilot and Chief Pilot regarding day-to-day operations
Ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner; and that Technical Dispatch and Flight Following Procedures are followed.
Liaising with the Manager of Client services to ensure clients are receiving excellent service
Performing the flying duties of PIC on operational flights (Scenic Flight, Charters, Camps)
Assisting in maintenance of aircraft
Assisting in grooming and cleaning of aircraft
Moving aircraft in and out of water and hangars
Other duties as required
Flight Coordinators have a passion for safety, flying and customer service, and will partner with other members of our company to deliver Inspiring Adventures through the Wonders of Flight. To maintain Lake Country Airways’ high quality of service. The Flight Coordinator is required to answer a high volume of emails and phone calls on a daily basis, quote and coordinate all necessary logistics of Private Charters, schedule Scenic Tours, Private Charters, Camps, and Advanced Float Training Students. The Flight Coordinator must have a strong knowledge of aircraft scheduling and parameters (including, but not limited to,) aircraft limitations. The Flight Coordinator will attend meetings and submit assignments by agreed upon deadlines.
