7 Hour Float (Seaplane) Endorsement

The perfect way to wet your toes and discover the pleasure of float flying. Lake Country Airways will introduce you to the basics of floatplane operation, including aircraft handling in flight, on the water, and at the dock.

All 7 hour endorsements are done on a Cessna 172 in Orillia or on Constance Lake just outside of Ottawa. Before you register, you must have at minimim, a recreational or private pilot’s license - which we can help you obtain - and a current medical. If you hold a license from a country other than Canada, you will first need to obtain a Foreign Validation License through Transport Canada.

25 Hour Advanced Training Course

Geared towards pilots entering the industry, or those who want to continue to build on their float flying experience. Graduates leave feeling confident in their newly acquired seaplane skills.

The 25 hour Advanced Training course is offered on a Cessna 172 in Orillia and at Constance Lake near Ottawa, or a Cessna 180 in Parry Sound. Before you register, you must have a float rating and a current medical. If you hold a license from a country other than Canada, you will first need to obtain a Foreign Validation License through Transport Canada.

50 Hour Advanced Training Course

For pilots seeking commercial floatplane employment or for those wishing to further their skill development. Graduates develop confidence and deepen their seaplane skills as they work towards the 50 hour float time minimum to start a float flying career.
